Now the next question is which sprinkles are preferred: chocolate or rainbow? (photo by Courtney Cook via Unsplash)

The summer season has arrived, and you know what that means—ice cream.

And believe it or not, one study found out that each state favors some ice cream flavors over others, Pennsylvania included.

While looking into America’s favorite vape and hookah flavors, Hookah-Shisha figured it’d also be fun to find out which ice cream flavor was the favorite based on which state one may be in. So, the website parsed through search data across the nation on a quest to find out just that.

And when it comes to Pennsylvania, that favorite flavor is vanilla.

“As it turns out, most of the U.S. population is screaming for vanilla ice cream,” reads the study. “This timeless classic is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the U.S.’s #1 favorite ice cream flavor, being searched for the most across the whole nation.

“Out of the top 20 flavors, vanilla made up over 16% of flavors searched with over 33,000 searches per month! To take it even further, we broke favorite ice cream flavors down by state, and vanilla was the top flavor in 46 out of 50 states in the U.S.!”

Alaska, Connecticut, Georgia, and Hawaii were the only states were vanilla doesn’t appear to be the number one preference, opting to have banana or coconut ice cream instead.

A bit strange, right, as banana ice cream in general may seem to many like a rather odd pick for a favorite. Actually, though, banana came in a tie with a chocolate-strawberry combo for second place in being the country’s overall favorite. Pistachio and mint chocolate chip came in third.

Now the real question is, which sprinkles reign supreme: chocolate or rainbow?
